The players being properly equipped for practice and games sets the stage for enjoyment and success on the field.  Below is a list of requirements and suggestions.  Please reach out to your coach or Weston Baseball with additional questions.

  1. Bag - staying organized and maintaining control of personal equipment is key.
  2. Glove - an appropriately sized and quality glove is required.
  3. Helmet - all players need their own baseball helmet.  A helmet must be warn for all batting drills, practice and game at bats.
  4. Bat - a "USA bat" stamped bat is the only allowed bat.  BBCOR, USSSA, etc. bats are not allowed to be used in practice or games.  The "USA Bat" is an official designation that regulates the weight/length ratio and "liveliness" of the bat.  This is a regulation of Cal Ripken baseball (and Little League) and must be adhered to.  This designation ensures a safe environment and fairness amongst the players.  Violations will results in a warning and / or discipline depending upon the situation.
  5. Protective Cup - all players should wear a protective cup to practices and games.
  6. Water - all players should bring a water bottle with enough water to match the length and temperature of their session.
  7. Cleats - cleats are suggested at all levels, and strongly recommended as the boys progress up through the levels.  Metal cleats are not allowed.
  8. Pants - players should always wear athletic pants (sweats or baseball pants) to all games and practices.  If it is very hot, direction will be sent from the Coach or WBB Board that shorts are permitted on a particular day.
