Players in 2nd grade

The Rookie Prep division is designed to introduce players to live pitching. At the beginning of the season for the first four games, a coach of the batting team will deliver pitchers to the batters. After the first four games, the format will move to a modified player pitch format. The pitcher's mound will be adjustable between 46 feet and 40 feet from home plate depending on each youth pitcher's ability. The bases are 60 feet apart.

There is one game and on practice per week. Practices are run by professional development coaches assisted by volunteer coaches.

Games may include playing neighboring towns including Bethel and/or Redding/Easton and will be played either in Weston or those towns.

We encourage all players from Pre-K to Second grade to register for our program based on grade. Exceptions are rarely granted unless one more more of the following conditions are met.

1) The child is older than the normal age cut off for their grade;

2) The players hitting and throwing abilities pose a threat to the other players in their grade;

3) Their ability is considered to be exceptionally above their grade as determined by the player agent.

Playing at the level above the designated grade requires the approval of the Player Agent.
